According to an official announcement Tuesday, the Alabama Crimson Tide and West Virginia Mountaineers have mutually agreed to cancel their upcoming home-and-home series.
The Crimson Tide and Mountaineers, who are a member of the Big 12, were previously set to meet in Morgantown, West Virginia during the 2026 season, followed by a matchup in Tuscaloosa in 2027.
In addition to the cancelled series with West Virginia, Alabama will also now host East Carolina, a member of the AAC, next season inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide and Pirates last met during the 1998 season, a 23-22 win for Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
East Carolina now joins Florida State as Alabama’s 2026 nonconference opponents, as the Seminoles are also set to come to Tuscaloosa next fall.
