Aaron Rodgers Brutal Truth Offered by Ben Roethlisberger

Aaron Rodgers will turn 42 in December, so it goes without saying that his signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers is something other than a long-range plan.

The fact it’s a one-year contract is evidence enough.

Steelers fans should prepare themselves, though, for the four-time NFL MVP to make lots of noise this season about playing multiple seasons.

But to Ben Roethlisberger?

This arrangement is all about “one and done” in Pittsburgh.

“I don’t think he’s got much more after this year,” Roethlisberger said on his Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast. “I think this might be it for him.”

Big Ben isn’t pretending to have inside info here – just logic about a brutal truth about Father Time.

“I don’t know; I’m just guessing in terms of you coming off an Achilles. Coming off my elbow [injury], my first year back I felt like I was 100. I wasn’t even — you don’t realize you’re not 100 [percent] until the next year when you are 100.”

Rodgers did start all 17 New York Jets games in 2024, a year after suffering a torn Achilles tendon on the fourth play of the first game of the 2023 season.

In Pittsburgh, he takes over a QB room that could include the future starter in Ohio State rookie Will Howard.

Roethlisberger retired at age 39, so he’s been there and done that … and his Super Bowl-winning legacy is secure.

As a Green Bay legend. Rodgers’ Super Bowl resume is also etched in Hall of Fame stone.

With the Steelers, he will get one more shot at bolstering that resume,

Said Roethlisberger: “I think this might be his last go.”
