Kirk Cousins played a big part in the Vikings franchise taking a step into the next step of their growth as a team. While he never got them to a Super Bowl, he played a big role in the development of players like Christian Darrisaw, Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Stefon Diggs, just to name a few.
Now as we get towards the NFL Draft, the Viking turned Falcon may be looking for a new home again. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated wrote about it in his recent column on Monday.
Breer writes, “After sitting in on Falcons owner Arthur Blank’s media session at the owners’ meeting, I still think a trade of Kirk Cousins is possible for draft weekend. As we’ve said, Cousins would rather see what teams do in the first round of the draft before accepting a trade. And he can make it so, since he has a no-trade clause in his contract.”
Why are we bringing this up? The Vikings still need a veteran backup for McCarthy, that’s why. Who better to help him get used to this system and understand how to be a good professional? Cousins could be exactly what the Vikings need, and for the money he is owed, he could be acquired for a low price.
