NBA Postgame Fight Between Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bennedict Mathurin Turns Heads

There was quite a bit of chaos after the Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs by the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. There were several altercations after the Bucks improbably blew their lead on the Pacers in overtime to get an early start to the offseason.

A new video shows Giannis Antetokounmpo giving handshakes to several of the Pacers players. Antetokounmpo appeared to be having a cordial exchange with Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin.

Then the two began to shove each other after exchanging words. The two players had to be separated by teammates to prevent the situation from escalating.

Here is a look at the video of the postgame scuffle that has fans buzzing on social media.

Antetokounmpo appeared to bring Mathurin in close for a conversation but whatever was said intensified the situation. This incident is in addition to a verbal altercation Antetokounmpo had with Tyrese Haliburton’s dad John Haliburton.

After the game, Antetkounmpo called out Haliburton’s father for taunting him following the Pacers’ win.

“There can be a lot of people out there that are like… ‘When you win the game, talk (expletive),'” Antetokounmpo said on Tuesday, per Awful Announcing. “It’s a green light for you to be disrespectful toward somebody else. I disagree.”

Haliburton agreed with Antetokounmpo’s assessment and admitted his father crossed the line.

“After we won, I kind of blacked out a little,” Haliburton told reporters on Tuesday, per IndySportsLegends.com’s Tyler Smith. “As far as the incident between Giannis and my pops, I had no idea it happened until I got to the back.

“I talked to my pops after, and I don’t agree with what transpired there from him. He needs to just allow me to play basketball. I’ll talk with Giannis about it. I don’t think my pops was right.”
