Former Clemson guard Jake Heidbreder announces transfer destination

Jake Heidbreder is heading back out west for the final chapter of his college career.

The former Clemson guard has announced he’s transferring to Fresno State, marking a return to the Mountain West Conference. Heidbreder began his college journey at Air Force, where he played two seasons before making the move to Clemson ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

After sitting out his first year with the Tigers as a redshirt, Heidbreder appeared in 32 games during the 2023-24 season. He averaged 14 minutes per game off the bench and contributed 4.1 points per outing. Known for his perimeter shooting, he connected on 37.3% of his three-point attempts during the regular season, though he hit just 2-of-12 from deep in postseason play. Despite that dip, Heidbreder still holds a career three-point percentage of 38.8%.

Now with one year of eligibility left, Heidbreder will look to close out his college career at Fresno State, bringing experience and outside shooting to the Bulldogs’ backcourt.
