Cam Heyward calls out Jets over mishandling Aaron Rodgers: 'Don't really vibe with that'

Cam Heyward isn’t holding back when it comes to how the Jets handled Aaron Rodgers’ release — and he’s far from a fan of the way it went down in New York.

Rodgers broke the news of his flight-and-release to New York on The Pat McAfee Show, and Heyward recently weighed in on the story. On his podcast, Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, the big Steelers DT took aim at the Jets over the unprofessional nature of the ‘meeting’:

“How do we get excited for a guy losing his job and making him fly across the country just to do it in person? I’ve seen multiple times where GMs call up an agent,” Heyward stated. “I just don’t get that. That’s lame to me. I would be even mad if I was getting cut from the Pittsburgh Steelers and they made me drive down to the facility. They could’ve just left me at home and not made me stick through traffic. I don’t really vibe with that.”

HC Aaron Glenn of the New York Jets will have some explaining to do when he faces off against Heyward — and potentially Rodgers — when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit Gotham in 2025.
