Former Penn State football linebacker Ta'Mere Robinson commits to new school

A former Nittany Lion has found his transfer destination.

Former Penn State football linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson has committed to USC out of the transfer portal, according to a report by On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Robinson entered the portal on Wednesday and posted about his visit with the Trojans on Instagram on Friday before coming to his final decision.

He spent two seasons with the Nittany Lions, redshirting his first season while appearing in three contests Robinson saw a sizeable increase in playing time last season, appearing in 14 of 16 games and tallying 11 tackles, including 1.5 for loss.

With limited depth at the position, Robinson likely would have played a large role for the Nittany Lions this season. Though Tony Rojas and Dom DeLuca are favored to start in Jim Knowles’ 4-2-5 defense, Robinson took reps at the MIKE position this offseason and likely would’ve been utilized in three-linebacker sets.

Robinson becomes the first former Nittany Lion to commit to a new destination. Guard JB Nelson, cornerback Jon Mitchell, linebacker Beckham Dee and defensive end Joseph Mupoyi are still searching for their next schools.
