Buffalo Bills DT DeWayne Carter suffered season-ending injury

The Buffalo Bills have a hole in their defensive line just prior to the start of the 2025 NFL regular season.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter has torn his Achilles and will not miss his entire second season in the NFL:

Carter, 24, appeared in 11 games for the Bills as a rookie in 2024. He recorded 14 tackles, including five for loss, with three quarterback hits. Carter sustained wrist injury last year as well.

According to the Buffalo News, Carter sustained the Achilles injury on Wednesday during practice.

Carter was expected to once again play a part in Buffalo’s defensive line rotation. It remains to be seen how Carter’s snaps are replaced. The Bills have two defensive tackles on their practice squad, Zion Logue and Jordan Phillips, who could be signed to the 53-man roster.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
