The NFL just handed down a significant suspension to former Pittsburgh Steelers DT Isaiah Buggs.
Following several incidents of legal trouble — including charges in May 2024 for second-degree animal cruelty, which were later dismissed, and domestic violence/burglary charges in June 2024 — Buggs is being suspended for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 season.
Buggs was arrested on burglary and domestic violence charges in 2024, with those charges reduced to misdemeanor criminal trespass as part of a plea agreement, per a statement from his attorney earlier this offseason. He also had animal cruelty charges that were dismissed.

Selected by the Steelers with the 192nd overall pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Buggs played two seasons in Pittsburgh before his release in January 2022. After stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions, Buggs signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in January 2024 but was released five months later following the aforementioned legal issues.
It remains to be seen if an NFL team will take a chance on Buggs following this latest suspension, as his legal troubles now seemingly overshadow his four-year career.
