One tradition of USC football games at the Coliseum is the tunnel captain. When the Trojans take the field before each home game, they are led by either a former player or notable celebrity.
On Thursday afternoon, USC announced the tunnel captain for Saturday’s season opener vs. Missouri State. Leading the Trojans out this week will be former USC wide receiver—and current Atlanta Falcons wideout—Drake London.
London played at USC from 2019-2021. During his junior season, he racked up 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns in just 7.5 games—unfortunately suffering a season-ending ankle injury in a late October contest vs. Arizona. For his performance, he was named the Pac-12 offensive player of the year.
London declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, where the Atlanta Falcons selected him with the eighth overall pick. After two solid seasons in his first two years in the league, London broke out in 2024. He finished last season with 100 catches for 1,271 yards and nine touchdowns.
London enters the 2025 NFL season as one of the top young receivers in the league. Before heading back to Atlanta for his season opener next week, however, he will get to return to his college stomping grounds for a day.
