RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons completed a medical yesterday ahead of completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have agreed personal terms with the Netherlands international and are paying €60 million for the 22-year-old. Spurs tabled a bid for Simons yesterday once it was clear he was keen on moving to the North London club.
Chelsea were also keen on the former Paris Saint-Germain attacker, but they did not make a bid for him. The Dutchman will now be joining Tottenham, with head coach Thomas Frank receiving a huge boost in his attempt to bolster the position. The Lilywhites have been dealt a couple of blows in their attempt to strengthen in the final third this summer, with missed out on deals for Morgan Gibbs-White opting to remain at Nottingham Forest. Eberechi Eze came close to moving to Tottenham but has since joined Arsenal after the deal was hijacked.
