The Green Bay Packers thanked departing defensive lineman Kenny Clark for his nine seasons in Green Bay while announcing Thursday’s trade with the Dallas Cowboys. Clark is headed to Dallas as part of the blockbuster trade sending edge rusher Micah Parsons to Green Bay.
Clark, a 2016 first-round pick of the Packers, made three Pro Bowls and was an impact player along the defensive line for the Packers for nearly a decade.
From general manager Brian Gutekunst:
“We want to thank Kenny for the incredible impact he made in the locker room, on the field and in the community during his nine seasons in Green Bay,” said Gutekunst. “From the time he arrived in 2016, Kenny established himself as one of the top defensive tackles in the league and in the history of this franchise with his production, durability and leadership. He had the respect of everyone in the organization and epitomized what it meant to be a Green Bay Packer. Kenny will be greatly missed, and we wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future.”
Former Packers general manager Ted Thompson selected Clark at No. 27 overall in the 2016 draft. Clark, who turns 30 in October, went on to produce 35 sacks, 51 tackles for loss and 76 quarterback hits while being named to Pro Bowls in 2019, 2021 and 2023. Clark played in 140 games for the Packers across nine seasons. In both 2018 and 2024, Clark was the Packers’ nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.
The Packers gave Clark a four-year, $70 million extension before the 2020 season and then gave him a third contract — three-year, $64 million in July of 2024.
In addition to Clark, the Packers agreed to send first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 to the Cowboys for Parsons, a three-time All-Pro.
