Happy college football season, round 2–or is it week 1?
As I mentioned in DWT;WT (which you’re under no obligation to read, it’s fine, I’ll tell my daughters Santa isn’t coming this year), our fearless Gamethread leader, Dead Read, has had to step back from writing duties. He’ll still grace the comments, I’m sure, but I just owe him a thank-you again for what a great person he is — both online and in real life.
Enough of us here at OTE, past and present, are and have been assholes in at least one of those settings; certainly I do my best to make up the slack for those that aren’t.
That includes Dead Read, who is not dead but who I realize I’m practically eulogizing here. That’s how outsized a steady hand he’s been over my tenure running this leaky vessel. So thanks to the incomparable DR.
