The Vikings will now have to play Micah Parsons twice a year after trade to the Packers

The Green Bay Packers are giving older Minnesota Vikings fans some bad flashbacks to when they acquired Reggie White. It was a move that changed the course of NFL history and helped the team eventually find the promised land once again by winning a Lombardi Trophy.

Fast forward to the present day, and the Packers have pulled off another stunner for another All-Pro edge rusher.

On Thursday night, the Packers acquired Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys for just two 1st-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark. As a result, the Vikings will now have to defend against the young pass rusher twice a year for the foreseeable future. At the very least, he will be around for the next four years after agreeing to an extension with his new team.

The Vikings will be tested twice a year, as we mentioned by Parsons. The first time will come in Week 12 on the road, then again to end the 2025 regular season in Week 18 at home.

What this means for the Vikings is that the NFC North just became that much more difficult. For first-year starter J.J. McCarthy, there is more pressure on him, and this new look offensive line of the Vikings. Thankfully, by the time they play him, there will be plenty of film on how the Packers will use him. Also, Christian Darrisaw should be fully healed by then to be back and help protect McCarthy.
