The New York Jets submitted their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday.
Unsurprisingly, general manager Darren Mougey continued churning the roster on Wednesday. Mougey put his No. 7 spot in the waiver wire priority to good use, claiming three players.
Tight end Jelani Woods, linebacker Cam Jones, and offensive tackle Esa Pole are joining the Jets were the trio.
Shockingly, the Jets did not claim a single wide receiver, arguably ignoring their biggest need.
After analyzing the latest version of the roster, the urgency to acquire a wideout is greater than ever before.

The Jets have just five wide receivers on the current 53-man roster.
Veteran wideout Tyler Johnson was cut to make room for the waiver wire additions. Both Brandon Smith and Quentin Skinner were released in favor of Xavier Gipson, who is more experienced on offense and special teams.
Johnson, Smith, Skinner, and Jamaal Pritchett all landed back on the practice squad, the team recently announced.
The Jets nearly have as many wide receivers on the practice squad (four) as they do on the active 53-man roster (five).
Veteran offseason addition Josh Reynolds is currently masquerading as quarterrback Justin Fields’ WR2 behind Garrett Wilson.
Mougey needs to acquire another starting-caliber receiver before Week 1 marks its arrival.
