Brooke Henderson breaks LPGA drought, wins CPKC Women's Open on home soil in Canada

For the first time in two years and seven months, Brooke Henderson has lifted a trophy on the LPGA. That the victory drought came to an end on Canadian soil made it one of the most significant triumphs of her decorated career.

“I’ve been waiting for that 14th win feels like forever,” said Henderson after claiming the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open. “To win it here makes just it so special. I had family and friends here and I just thank God for allowing me to be back in this position and allowing me to have the courage and the strength to perform here.”

This marks the second time Henderson has won her national open, with the first coming in 2018. The winningest golfer in Canadian history now owns 14 LPGA titles.

Henderson becomes the 23rd different player to win on tour this season and the first Canadian since 1914 to win the national title twice. Three men have won the Canadian Open twice: Charles Murray, Albert Murray, Karl Keffer. Henderson is the first woman to accomplish the feat.

With big sister Brittany on the bag, Henderson closed with a 4-under 67 to finish at 15 under. Lee, who snapped her own victory drought earlier this year at the KPMG Women’s PGA, closed with a 68 to finish at 14 under. Mao Saigo, winner of the first major of the season, finished solo third at 11 under after a closing 66.

Three-time Canadian Women’s Open winner Lydia Ko took a share of fifth.

Brooke M. Henderson of Canada is presented with the trophy after winning the CPKC Women's Open 2025 at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club on August 24, 2025 in Mississauga, Ontario.

Amateur Aphrodite Deng, a 15-year-old Canadian who won the U.S. Girls’ Junior last month, tied for 20th after a hot start to the week.

Henderson made 64 starts between victories on the LPGA. Her father Dave, who doubles as her instructor, wasted no time in getting out there to douse her with champagne.

“It’s so special,” said Henderson. “I’m surprised I’m not crying, because I thought I definitely was was going to during this interview.”
