Live updates, game time, streaming info: No. 9 American Heritage vs. No. 20 St. Joseph’s Prep finally under way

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, Aug. 22 — After approximately a 90-minute delay, we are finally rolling under the lights in Fort Lauderdale as American Heritage and St. Joseph’s Prep have kicked off.
The game between the No. 24 Corner Canyon Chargers of Draper, Utah, and the unranked West Broward [Pembroke Pines, FL] Bobcats has also been in a long delay along with games in Orlando between No. 25 Milton [GA] and The First Academy and Bradenton between No. 3 St. John Bosco [Bellflower, CA] and Manatee [Bradenton, FL] Hurricanes.
Now that we’ve kicked off, we get our first look at American Heritage and 5-star quarterback Dia Bell who is committed to the Texas Longhorns. He led American Heritage to a 12-2 finish while taking home Florida’s FHSAA Class 4A trophy. St. Joseph’s Prep, meanwhile, was the champion of Pennsylvania’s PIAA Class 6A ranks.

We do have an update from ESPN2 on the weather. This game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m., but it is now set for 6:30 p.m. The good news is the players are on the field getting warmed up.

As we mentioned above, weather has been wreaking havoc on the opening weekend of Florida’s high school football schedule. We’re awaiting update on whether things have settled down in the Fort Lauderdale area. Corner Canyon vs. West Broward at Dillard High School is still showing in a rain delay for now, but we’ll update you as soon as we know something.
