PFF's highest-graded Steelers on offense vs. Panthers in preseason finale

Pro Football Focus has released their preseason Week 3 grades — and several offensive standouts on the Pittsburgh Steelers were recognized for their elite performance on Thursday against the Carolina Panthers.

Here are the top 10 highest-graded Steelers on offense following the 19-10 victory over the Panthers:

  1. WR Scotty Miller — 91.8
  2. QB Skylar Thompson — 90.5
  3. RB Kenneth Gainwell — 89.7
  4. RB Trey Sermon — 87.0
  5. WR Ke’Shawn Williams — 78.7
  6. WR Lance McCutcheon — 78.1
  7. RB Lew Nichols — 76.2
  8. TE Darnell Washington — 70.4
  9. RT Doug Nester — 69.8
  10. RG Mason McCormick — 68.6

Miller and Thompson, two of our six Steelers standouts from the game, likely sealed their spot on the 53-man roster with their strong performance. However, RT Doug Nester’s solid night wasn’t enough, as he was released on Friday.

While the offense looked strong against the Panthers, it was Pittsburgh’s defense that produced a second-half shutout. Fans can read more about PFF’s top 10 highest-graded Steelers defenders here.
