Florida football's season opener marks 13th-straight sellout at the Swamp

Florida football’s 2025 season-opener against the Long Island Sharks inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium has sold out, marking the 13th-straight home game to see all of its tickets taken well ahead of kickoff.

It marks the 17th sellout during the Billy Napier era, which opened up with four in his debut campaign. Each year has seen steady improvement, with five games selling out in 2023 and all seven last fall.

Student season tickets have sold out for all four of Napier’s seasons and this year’s marks the fifth-straight overall.

Last year, the Gators’ home opener was spoiled by the Miami Hurricanes, who trounced their upstate rivals with a 41-17 victory in the Swamp. They would lose only one more home game to the Texas A&M Aggies before taking the remaining five — punctuated by critical wins over the LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels in back-to-back weeks.

This season, in addition to LIU, Florida faces the USF Bulls, Texas Longhorns, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers and Florida State Seminoles at home. Unless the Gators experience a monumental collapse, there is no reason why the sellout streak in the Swamp cannot continue through the entire regular-season schedule.
