Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction Thursday for top LSU football target five-star Darius Gray to choose South Carolina.
The 2026 offensive lineman ranks atop his position in the cycle. His top five included LSU, South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee and Ohio State. An official announcement regarding his decision isn’t expected before the start of his senior season.
Gray plays high school football at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA. Rivals’ Industry Rankings slots him as the state’s No. 2 prospect and No. 31 nationally. 247Sports ranks Gray as the nation’s top offensive linemen and best player out of Virginia.
For much of Gray’s recruitment, LSU led the way as the favorite for his commitment but it appears the Gamecocks picked up speed coming down the stretch. However, the decision isn’t final until it comes from Gray himself and he puts pen to paper on national signing day.
