Tennessee Titans hosted USC's Jaylin Smith for pre-draft visit

The Tennessee Titans have several needs to address during the 2025 NFL draft next week. Aside from the obvious selection with the first pick, the Titans need to add depth to their defense.

As part of their draft preparation process, the Titans are hosting players for local pro days, top 30 visits, and pre-draft visits. One of those pre-draft visits was with defensive back Jaylin Smith out of USC.

Smith is a developmental prospect who didn’t find consistency in the secondary until his breakout junior year. His freshman and sophomore seasons were spent being shuffled across various positions as different coordinators attempted to find his niche. In his junior year, Smith recorded 75 tackles and was named the Holiday Bowl Defensive MVP.

As a senior, Smith settled into a cornerback position, finally showing consistency in his game. The time it took for him to get there, though, hinders his draft status. He will require further development, although he can likely contribute on special teams relatively quickly.

Projected to be a late-round draft pick, Smith would absolutely benefit from playing under Dennard Wilson. Whether the Titans agree or not remains to be seen.
