Baltimore reported to training camp on July 22 and will enter Week 2 of training camp looking to cut down on penalties and non-efficient plays. All isn’t perfect, as the Ravens have been dealing with some early, soft tissue issues at camp, with several high-profile defenders having missed practice.
Week 2 of camp kicked off on Wednesday with another spirited practice. As the preseason action inches closer, we’re doing a stock report of whose stock is rising and whose is on the decline.
Stock up — RB Keaton Mitchell
Offensive coordinator Todd Monken was honest about Mitchell having to earn his snaps, but the dual-threat running back has regained his explosive burst and could be one of the Ravens’ most critical weapons.
Stock up — WR Devontez Walker
The former UNC pass catcher has developed excellent chemistry with Lamar Jackson and has an excellent shot at developing into the Ravens’ deep threat of choice.
Stock down — CB Jalyn Armour-Davis
Health is wealth, and the fourth-year cornerback can ill afford to miss any significant practice time or preseason action after being forced out of a recent practice with an injury. Baltimore spent sixth-round picks on cornerbacks Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam, and Armour-Davis needs to start making plays.
Stock Down — OLB Adisa Isaac
The former Penn State pass rusher has two double-digit sack artists ahead of him on the depth chart, and that was before Baltimore used a second-round pick on Mike Green. Isaac has done nothing to stand out in a crowded edge rusher room that includes Tavius Robinson and David Ojabo, climbing the depth chart.
Stock up — Jaire Alexander
The former Packers cornerback has brought energy and swagger to the Ravens’ secondary, immediately bonding with Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins.
Stock up — Malaki Starks
A likely Day 1 start, Starks has performed and started leading like a long-time veteran, not a rookie out of Georgia. Kyle Hamilton has praised Starks’ command of the defense, and he’s so versatile that John Harbaugh has given him reps at cornerback.
