The New York Jets have held a couple of padded practices at training camp now. The offensive line has looked as advertised. The O-Line is supposed to be the strength of the Jets offense this season. The bookend duo of Olu Fashanu and Armand Membou at offensive tackle is an ascending one.
New Jets GM Darren Mougey selected Membou at No. 7 overall in the 2025 NFL draft. The former Missouri standout is already the unquestioned starter at right tackle. Membou is both physical and athletic, and the Jets are excited about the potential he’s already displayed.
“He is extremely strong, EXTREMELY strong, probably one of the strongest people on the team,” Williams said about Membou. “Membou is coming out and working every single day, leaning on the DL to help him get better every day, just working his butt off when it comes down to his technique. He is light years ahead of a lot of rookie OL I’ve played against & been around.”

It’s encouraging to hear Williams say Membou is “light years” ahead of most rookie offensive lineman he’s encountered. Membou continues to earn the respect of his teammates and coaching staff at training camp. The Jets landed a potential 10-year starter in the 2025 NFL draft.
