It has been a quiet NBA offseason for the Oklahoma City Thunder, which was expected as they are set to bring almost their entire core from last season back for next season.

Outside of their two selections in the 2025 draft, the Thunder have not made any additions to their roster but they did make three massive decisions regarding their star trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren.

Oklahoma City signed all three players to max extensions that will keep them with the franchise for the foreseeable future.

While the Thunder have had a quiet offseason, one of their former players was in the news on Monday.

On Monday, a clip of Kendrick Perkins from the Road Trippin’ Show made its way across social media as Perkins made a bold statement regarding the all-time rankings for Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.

“I do not have him in my top 10,” Perkins said about Paul. “I don’t have CP3 ranked above Russell Westbrook.

This was a bold take by Perkins and one that has caused the former Boston Celtics champion to face a ton of backlash from fans on social media.

Of course, both Paul and Westbrook have had incredible NBA careers and both are likely to be first ballot Hall of Famers whenever they are eligible in the future, though Paul is considered by many around the league to be one of the best point guards in league history.

For Paul, he is set to enter his 21st season next year after signing with the Los Angeles Clippers this summer and he will enter the season second on the all-time assists and steals lists.

It has truly been an incredible career for the 40-year-old guard that many deem the “Point God”, though Perkins believes that Westbrook is better due to him winning an MVP award earlier in his career during his time in Oklahoma City.

While that may be the case, fans have let Perkins hear it on social media regarding his take as they believe that Paul is the better of the two guards.
