Former Boston Celtics backup floor general Brad Wanamaker is making the leap to the other side of the clipboard next season, according to recent reporting from Rich Flanagan of City of Basketball Love. Per Flanagan, Wanamaker will take the reigns of his high school’s boy’s basketball program as head coach, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s Roman Catholic.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brad Wanamaker as the new Head Coach of Roman Catholic Basketball,” said school president John Prendergast via release. “Brad’s pedigree as a professional athlete, his deep connection to Roman, and most importantly, his clear commitment to developing young men on and off the court made this a confident and natural decision.”

“We look forward to the leadership and vision Brad will bring as he returns to lead the very program that helped shape him as a student at Broad and Vine,” he added.

“I’m truly honored to be named the head basketball coach at Roman Catholic, the school in which I once walked the halls,” said Wanamaker on a recent social media post.

“It’s a privilege to lead this program, and I’m committed to continuing a culture of hard work, integrity, and unity that’s been built by so many great coaches before me. Can’t wait to get started, let’s go, Roman.”
