The Kansas City Chiefs received some welcome news at the start of their first padded practice on Sunday with the return of a starting offensive lineman.
At his training camp press conference, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed the return of starting right tackle Jawaan Taylor from the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
“Jawaan Taylor and Tre Watson came back. So, all in all, it was a good day,” said Reid to open his discussion with reporters after practicing and providing some insight on Taylor’s performance. “Yeah, we’re getting him back in the swing. He hadn’t done anything, but they’re all three kind of competing in there.”

Taylor shared reps with newly signed offensive lineman Jaylon Moore for most of practice. Reporters pictured him at camp in full pads without much limitation from the knee injury.
The 27-year-old Taylor is entering year three of a four-year, $80 million contract he signed in 2023. Many critics view him as a potential cut candidate after the season who could net the Chiefs $20 million in relief.
