Steelers HC Mike Tomlin downplays coaching streak

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is the most polarizing head coach in the NFL. Steelers fans are squarely divided between those who consider him one of the top coaches in the NFL and those who think he’s completely overrated.

The narrative surrounding Tomlin is all about the fact that he’s been the Steelers’ head coach and has never had a losing season. NFL Network reporter Kyle Brandt asked Tomlin about this streak during an interview at Steelers training camp and Tomlin’s answer was exactly as expected.

Tomlin said he doesn’t care much about it and given how far it goes back and how young many of the Steelers’ players are, he doubts it means much to them either. Truth be told, in today’s NFL, the fact that the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since 2016 carries far more weight to players than not falling below .500 in the regular season.
