Aaron Rodgers just revealed his journey to becoming a Pittsburgh Steeler — and it begins and ends with HC Mike Tomlin.
At Saturday’s training camp, Good Morning Football‘s Kyle Brandt had the opportunity to sit down with Rodgers and asked the four-time MVP how Tomlin convinced him to sign with the Steelers — and as it turns out, it was what the head coach didn’t do.
“It was honestly more about what [Tomlin] wasn’t saying,” Rodgers said. “At no point during the conversations, which were weekly — at least — did I ever feel like I was talking to a coach who needed something from me. ‘I need you to give me this,’ ‘Give me that,’ ‘Give me an answer.’ It was like you’re talking to an old friend. At my age, at my experience, I just really appreciated that.”

Rodgers continued that it was Tomlin’s treatment of him — not as a player, but as a person — that made such a strong impression, which clearly resonated enough for the future Hall of Fame QB to sign on the dotted line.
