The Detroit Tigers traded outfielder Brewer Hicklen to the Philadelphia Phillies for cash considerations on Saturday, July 26.
The 29-year-old was designated for assignment Wednesday, July 23, in the Troy Melton roster move. Hicklen played one game for the Tigers, 61 games for Triple-A Toledo. He hit .227 for the Mud Hens.
The MLB trade deadline is Thursday, July 31, where the Tigers will be buyers for the first time in years.
