The Dallas Wings not only beat the Seattle Storm during their Tuesday showdown, but they also witnessed a franchise record broken, courtesy of Arike Ogunbowale.

Ogunbowale, who is second on the Wings in scoring, stepped up big time to lead Dallas to the 87-63 victory against Seattle. She scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while adding three rebounds, three assists and one steal.

With her performance, the 28-year-old guard was recognized by the WNBA as the Top Performer of the game.

Aside from that, Ogunbowale also made history in the process. According to the Wings, the four-time All-Star “has officially become our franchise’s leader in FGM.” Ogunbowale increased her field goal tally to 1,477 after Tuesday’s win, surpassing previous record-holder Deanna Nolan who had 1,476 field goals made with Dallas.

Sure enough, fans were quick to heap praise on Arike Ogunbowale, with many also congratulating her for the achievement.

“Arike back to doing Arike things,” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “She’s doing a great job.”

“Arike you’re doing amazing sweetie,” a fan added.

A supporter gushed, “Her in the flesh.”

“Gget it Arike!!! She was feeling it !!!” a fifth poster added.

A follower excitedly remarked, “Yessssssss!!!!! Arike is backkkk!!!!”

Why Didn’t Arike Ogunbowale Make the 2025 All-Star Game?

Ogunbowale’s latest performance is certainly a good sign for the Wings, especially since their star guard has largely struggled this season.

The 2020 WNBA scoring champion is a two-time All-Star Game MVP and actually won the award in last year’s All-Star Game. However, she failed to even make it to the festivities this season.

In 2024, there was only one instance when she scored in single digits. This 2025, she has already had seven games with less than 10 points. It certainly didn’t help her that she’s been dealing with health issues, missing three straight games this July because of a thumb injury.
