Former Suns Forward Receives Major Career Honor From University of Arizona originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The NBA offseason has reached a slow point as most of the top free agents have already signed new contracts and the Las Vegas Summer League has wrapped up.
Despite this, rumors have been running wild around the NBA, including with the Phoenix Suns who have completely changed their roster this offseason.
Phoenix has elected to break up their star trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal as they sent Durant to the Houston Rockets and bought out Beal’s contract.
Now they are looking to retool their roster around Devin Booker who will be the key piece to their future moving forward.
While the Suns are still expected to make more moves this summer, one of their former players was in the news on Wednesday as Channing Frye was honored by the University of Arizona.
On Wednesday, the university announced that Frye has been inducted into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.

This is an incredible honor for Frye who had an incredible collegiate career from 2002-2005 at Arizona and went on to have a successful NBA career.
Of course, Frye was selected eighth overall in the 2005 draft by the New York Knicks but it was with the Suns where he found most of his success.
Frye played four seasons in Phoenix from 2009-2014 where he averaged 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from the field and 38.9% from three.
The 42-year-old forward also spent time with the Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers during his 13 seasons in the NBA.
Frye won the only championship of his career in 2016 with the Cavaliers alongside LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving on the team that completed the 3-1 comeback against the Golden State Warriors.
This is an incredible honor for Frye and one that is well-deserved after his success at all ranks during his basketball career.
