Dallas Cowboys Get George Pickens Injury Scare at Camp in Video Going Viral originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
OXNARD – One day after humorously saying he’s not allowed to be a “princess” on the field, new Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens got a chance to show off exactly what he means here in Oxnard at Wednesday’s training camp workout.
With the Cowboys getting down to business in the California sun, it was Pickens’ second day in the coach Brian Schottenheimer regime, and the connection with QB Dak Prescott was again on display …
Until Pickens went down with an injury of some sort, with trainers gathering around and fans holding their collective breath.
Turns out, as you can see by our videos going viral, he’s fine … as CowboysCountry.com has been told it’s “just a cramp.”

And as far as what Pickens thought of the first day of training camp?

After the Tuesday workout, Pickens was asked whether he has a “split personality” … one persona on the field and another off of it.
“Yeah, I definitely don’t want to go on the field and try to be a princess or anything,” he said. “I’m definitely going to try to play football.
So, Day 1 and Day 2 are in the books, and it has all given us a little insight into how Pickens thinks … and how the offense under Schotty will operate, and one of the biggest things we noticed was the number of shifts and pre-snap motions used, plus KaVontae Turpin took a couple of handoffs too.
Granted, we don’t put too much stock into practices without the pads on, but the early signs have been good as the players get their feet underneath them.
Pickens has liked what he’s seen from the offense, and when asked about what it could become, there’s only one option.
“I think it could be great,” said Pickens, who after his controversial time with the Pittsburgh Steelers was Dallas’ big trade acquisition of the offseason. “Today is the first day, but long as we keep working and the camaraderie, I feel like it’s no choice but to be great.”
The weapons are there with Pickens, CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, Turpin, Jake Ferguson and what should be an improved run game for this offense to be better than last season.
And a healthy Pickens — no “princesses” allowed — is needed.
