Wednesday was reporting day for the Pittsburgh Steelersat training camp, which is always great for fans to see all the players showing up at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. But one guy who wasn’t there to make a grand entrance was new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers reported to camp but passed on the public appearance, which is very much on brand for Rodgers at this point in his career.
Rodgers joined the Steelers in late June as a free agent and is playing this season on a one-year deal in hopes of carrying the Steelers deep into the playoffs.
Rodgers replaces Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both of whom started for the Steelers in 2024 and led the team to a 10-7 record. Wilson is now the starting quarterback for the New York Giants, while Fields took over for Rodgers with the New York Jets.
The Steelers will hold their first practice of training camp on Thursday and head coach Mike Tomlin expects Rodgers to go full speed in team work.
