Even as the Cowboys begin assembling in Oxnard for this summer’s training camp, the team is still looking to possibly add to its ranks.
Several free agent pass rushers are getting a workout with the club, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, with Dallas perhaps seeking more depth behind Micah Parsons, Dante Fowler Jr., Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland, and newly-signed rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku. Veteran Payton Turner was added in the offseason; the Cowboys also have Tyrus Wheat, Earnest Brown IV, and Luiji Vilain at the position.
James Houston, Jesse Luketa, and Kameron Cline are among the Cowboys’ latest workout participants, per Fowler.

Houston started his college career at Florida before transferring to Jackson State in 2021 and playing his final year of eligibility under head coach Deion Sanders. A sixth-round draft pick of Detroit, he got off to a blazing start. In his very first NFL game, he recorded two sacks, two solo tackles, and a fumble recovery in only five defensive snaps. He went on to notch five sacks in his first four game appearances as rookie. But over the next two seasons, he played in just 10 more games for the Lions and was finally waived in November 2024. After getting picked up by Cleveland, he played in three more contests, registering only modest stats along the way.
Luketa, a native of Alberta, played collegiately at Penn State before being selected in the seventh round of the NFL’s 2022 draft by Arizona as well as the second round of the CFL draft. He chose the Cardinals, getting into 31 games over the last three seasons, mostly as a special-teams contributor.
Cline went undrafted in 2020 after playing his college ball at South Dakota. The 6-foot-4-inch, 283-pounder spent three seasons with the Colts, working primarily on the practice squad but appearing in five games over that span. The Bills claimed him off waivers in the spring of 2023; he played one game for Buffalo in 2024.
The Cowboys carried five defensive ends on the initial 53-man roster last year, but multiple injuries forced them to go deep into their bench during the season. With uncertainty surrounding several prospective members of the DE rotation in 2025, there could be an opportunity if one or more of the new workout candidates can make a good impression.
