In the middle of football recruiting season, the Ohio State Women’s basketball team scored a big win. Four-star combo guard Atlee Vanesko committed to play for Kevin McGuff and the Buckeyes.
Hailing from Westtown, Pennsylvania, she is the No. 2 player in the state and a top 100 player nationally. At 5-foot-11, she is ranked as the No. 5 combo guard in the country. Vanesko picked OSU over Stanford, Miami, and Virginia Tech.
She says she chose the Buckeyes because “The coaches are amazing and it’s obviously a very good program,” Vanesko told Rivals. “I think they’d develop me well. I want to play professionally, hopefully, and I think they’d do a good job developing me.”

Vanesko is scheduled for an official visit on August 29-31, which happens to be the weekend of a pretty big football game in Columbus when Texas comes to town. She is the first player to commit to the Buckeyes in the 2026 class.
