The Sin City Celtics are undefeated no more, biut Boston Celtics shooting guard Baylor Scheierman has found his sea legs in Las Vegas Summer League action, leading the Summer Celtics with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, and a mind-boggling 5 steals in Boston’s 100-96 loss to the Vegas Miami Heat on Monday (July 14) night.
With the loss, the Celtics fall to 2-1 in the summer exhibition series despite a strong second half push to overcome a slow start from most of Boston’s players. Several Celtics still had a solid night despite taking the L, including Jordan Walsh (13 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal) despite getting ejected, Hugo Gonzalez (10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists) after a rough start, and Charles Bassey (10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block) among the starters.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. (12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal) and Miles Norris (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block) played well off the bench in the Celtics penultimate tilt of the summer.
The Celtics next play the Los Angeles Lakers for their final contest of summer league on Thursday, July 17 at 9 pm ET.
