It’s no secret that the Tennessee Titans need to do all they can to support rookie quarterback Cam Ward in his first season.
With Calvin Ridley set to lead the way again in the wide receiver room, the Titans also added veterans Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson alongside draft picks Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor.
Even with those additions, the wide receiver room is far from complete, which means a potential acquisition is always possible for first-year general manager Mike Borgonzi.
When looking at some bold predictions entering 2025 NFL training camp, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton has Tennessee acquiring wide receiver Romeo Doubs from the Green Bay Packers.
Tennessee added veteran wideouts Van Jefferson and Tyler Lockett, but neither of the two moves the needle. Since 2022, Jefferson has made a minimal impact on three different teams. Lockett’s receiving numbers have declined over the past three years.
Doubs can carve out a sizable role with the Titans as their No. 2 receiver behind Calvin Ridley. He has much greater potential on a squad that needs help at his position.
Doubs has always been a bit underrated since he was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft. He doesn’t profile as a No. 1 option, but he’d be a fine addition as an auxiliary piece behind Ridley.
The Packers seemingly have a stockpile of wide receivers going into the young season. Doubs is in the mix with Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, and 2025 first-round selection Matthew Golden.
After coming off a career season in 2023 when he posted career-best marks with 59 receptions for 671 yards and eight touchdowns, Doubs regressed a bit in 2024. The Nevada product posted 46 receptions for 601 yards and four touchdowns last season.
The Titans will be searching for a new No. 2 wideout across from Ridley, and if there really is a logjam in Green Bay, it might behoove Tennessee to make a call.
