Nick Kyrgios Makes His Opinion of Jannik Sinner's Wimbledon Title Perfectly Clear Without Words

Nick Kyrgios Makes His Opinion of Jannik Sinner’s Wimbledon Title Perfectly Clear Without Words originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Australian tennis player, Nick Kyrgios, has never been afraid to speak his mind. Controversy follows Kyrgios seemingly everywhere, and he occasionally creates some on his own, on and off the tennis court.

Kyrgios has been ranked as high as No. 13 in the world during his career in Men’s singles, but he has also tried his hand as a tennis broadcaster as he has taken a hiatus from his playing career.

Kyrgios continues to battle multiple injuries, and has occupied his time as a podcast host of “Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios”. He has also been seen on TNT Sports, BBC, and the Tennis Channel.

While Kyrgios wasn’t working with the broadcast for Wimbledon, that didn’t keep him from making his opinions public throughout the tournament.

And following Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek being crowned the Men’s and Women’s singles champions, respectively, of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Kyrgios wasn’t afraid to make his opinion of the champions perfectly clear.

Kyrgios was able to express his strong opinion on his official X account, @NickKyrgios, without the use of any words.

“*,” Kyrgios posted.

Just one asterisk is all Kyrgios needed to get his opinion, and point, across publicly.

While the world must infer exactly what Kyrgios meant, he appears to be opposed to Sinner and Swiatek being named legitimate champions at Wimbledon, as they both encountered illegal doping controversies over the past two years.

In March of 2024, Sinner tested positive, twice, for the prohibited substance clostebol, a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS), via urine samples. Sinner was hit with a three-month ban from tennis, however, he never missed any Grand Slam tournaments.

And in August of 2024, Swiatek tested positive, twice, for low levels of the prohibited substance trimetazidine, a non-specified anti-anginal medicine often used to treat heart-related conditions. Swiatek was dealt a one-month ban from tennis, and like Sinner, did not miss any Grand Slam tournaments.

Despite Kyrgios’ feelings about Sinner and Swiatek, Sinner is the No. 1 ranked Men’s singles tennis player in the world, and has won four of the last seven Grand Slams.

As for Swiatek, she is ranked No. 3 in Women’s singles in the world, and has won four of the last 14 Grand Slams.
