NFL Has Fans Buzzing After Justin Jefferson Announcement

Heading into the 2025 NFL season, Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson is facing major change.

Gone is starting quarterback Sam Darnold, who helped lead the Vikings to a 14-3 record last season. Darnold put together a career season in 2024 and was a great fit for Jefferson.

Now, the 26-year-old wide receiver will be asked to step up in a big way for second-year signal caller J.J. McCarthy.

McCarthy has not taken a single regular season NFL snap. He played in the first preseason game of 2024, but missed the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury. There is no denying the potential that he possesses, but he is completely unproven.

Ahead of the 2025 NFL season, the league made an announcement about Jefferson entering his sixth year.

Despite the post not being anything news related, fans immediately started buzzing about the Minnesota star.

“MVP Season incoming?” one fan wrote.

Another chimed in, “Six years in and still bringing that intensity. Vikings fans have been blessed with some electric WR talent over the years.”

“No playoff wins is crazy,” a third comment read.

A fourth comment stated, “Best WR in the league.”

“Best in the league and it ain’t close,” a fifth fan said.

In his first five NFL seasons, Jefferson has put together monster numbers. He has caught 495 passes for 7,432 yards and 40 touchdowns. Now, he’s looking to make a deep playoff run.

Randy Moss, a Vikings’ legend, spoke out recently as well via TMZ Sports and did not hold back his thoughts about Jefferson.

“I think Justin Jefferson is on pace to be arguably the greatest ever and definitely the greatest Viking to ever do it!” Moss said. “I’ve always been a fan of a complete football player, where you can score from anywhere on the field. And Justin brings that to the table.”

Everything will start for Minnesota in Week 1 with a Monday Night Football matchup on September 8 against the Chicago Bears.
