FAIRVIEW — The Meadville/Saegertown (French Creek Valley) 9-11 year old Little League baseball team won a Section 1 championship on Thursday with a 11-6 victory against F.L.A.G. in Fairview.
French Creek Valley scored five runs in the third and added six in the fifth for a 11-4 lead. F.L.A.G. scored twice in the fifth, but didn’t mount a rally.
Dylan Widger and Sully Richards each had a triple in the game. Kian Kiskadden was 3-for-3 and Sebastian Kotlar added two hits. Blake Siverd, Widger, and Kiskadden each scored two runs. Richards tallied four RBIs.
On the mound, Kotlar got the start. He pitched five innings with six strikeouts, four earned runs and two walks. Copelan Kellar pitched one inning of relief and struck out three with two walks.
French Creek Valley defeated F.L.A.G. 7-2 in the first round of the tournament and Butler Township 12-9 in the semifinals.
French Creek Valley will compete in the state tournament in State College from July 16-22.
