Kirk Cousins is the star of the Netflix series “Quarterback” once again. He returned for Season 2 after co-starring with Patrick Mahomes and Marcus Mariota in Season 1, which was released two years ago.
Season two follows Cousins through the 2024 season, his first year with the Atlanta Falcons after spending the past six with the Minnesota Vikings. He didn’t hide that he still feels a connection with Vikings receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison when watching them.
“When you see someone dating the person you used to date in like high school or college, you’re like, ‘I used to throw to Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson,'” Cousins laughed. “And now someone else is enjoying doing that.”
Kirk Cousins really misses throwing to Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and compares them to an old high school/college relationship 👀

Cousins was intriguing in Season 1 of the series because of how relatable he felt. He wasn’t the superstar that Mahomes was, but he’s made four Pro Bowls and had the intrigue of being a player who was good enough to start but never entirely comfortable in his position.
This season, the intrigue comes with new scenery while watching Sam Darnold make the Pro Bowl, filling the spot Cousins played for six seasons. He felt “misled” by the Falcons drafting Michael Penix, Jr. one month after signing Cousins to a four-year, $180 million deal.
These are natural human emotions, and fans enjoy seeing that from players. It’s hard to feel too bad for Cousins since he’s still being paid handsomely to back up Penix, but he does seem to have some regret leaving Minnesota and being unable to throw passes to Jefferson and Addison.
