Myles Turner Eyes NBA Championship With Bucks originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

After 10 seasons, Myles Turner thought it would be best for him to leave the Indiana Pacers at the start of free agency. He ended up signing a four-year, $107 million contract to join the Milwaukee Bucks. With his signing, the Bucks upgraded their center after Brook Lopez joined the Los Angeles Clippers.

It was an unexpected move from the veteran big man. Especially after the Pacers made it to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000. However, Turner did what he thinks is best for his career.

This week, he was introduced as an official member of the Milwaukee team. During his first appearance as a Buck, he talked about his focus on wanting to play for championships with his new team.

Turner spoke about his desire to contend for titles after making it to the Finals for the first time. He believes that his decision to join the Bucks will help fulfill that wish.

“I hate when they say the grass can’t be greener on the other side,” Turner said via Time Reynolds of The Associated Press. “I’m confident enough to say the grass is going to be greener wherever I go.”

The acquisition of Turner gives the Bucks a reliable rimprotector next to Giannis Antetokounmpo. It will take off some load from the Greek Freak and have more focus on making an impact on the offensive end.

During his time with the Pacers, Turner averaged 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks. In that 10-year stretch, he led the league in blocks two times and was part of the 2015-16 All-Rookie team.
