Caitlin Clark is headed to the WNBA All-Star Game for the second time in two seasons.
The Indiana Fever star was announced as a captain for the event earlier this season, along with Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier.
Both players recently drafted their WNBA All-Star lineups. Clark, apart from picking up her Fever teammates, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, also decided to acquire some young depth.
When selecting her reserve players, Clark drafted Washington Mystics rookie Sonia Citron, who’s certainly in the race to win Rookie of the Year.
After the draft concluded, Citron joined WNBA legend Lisa Leslie on the “Between the Lines” podcast to discuss her rookie season with the Mystics and the recent All-Star selection.
Referring to Clark’s recent selection of Citron in the WNBA All-Star draft, the 21-year-old explained that she is excited to play with the Fever star and Sabrina Ionescu. Citron further added that she previously played with Clark in the FIBA U19 tournament.
“Yeah, I’m excited,” Citron said. “I think we’re young, we got a bunch of shooters, a little bit of everything. Just really excited to play with Caitlin with Sabrina with all the people on our team…I have played with Caitlin before…we both made the U19 World Cup team.”

During her rookie season with the Washington Mystics, Sonia Citron has helped lead the team to a 10-10 record. Washington sits at No. 3 in the Eastern Conference and No. 7 in the WNBA standings.
Citron has averaged 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Caitlin Clark has dealt with injury woes all season. She recently missed five games with a groin injury and missed time earlier in the season due to a leg injury.
During her second season with the Indiana Fever, Clark has posted 17.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game.
