ESPN analyst Dominique Foxworth has labeled the upcoming season as a critical juncture for Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the team’s leadership.

Appearing on a recent episode of “Get Up”, Foxworth emphasized the high stakes, stating, “I think it’s honestly a make-or-break season for a lot of people down in Miami right now, particularly the head coach and the quarterback.”

This assessment comes as the Dolphins aim to rebound from an 8-9 record and secure a playoff spot in 2025, their fourth year under head coach Mike McDaniel.

Foxworth’s concerns are rooted in the team’s challenges, including a weaker, aging roster and a head coach who’s in jeopardy of losing his job.

Moreover, he highlighted Tagovailoa’s injury history and the potential for a “new regime” if his performance falters, suggesting the quarterback getting opportunities elsewhere wouldn’t be a guarantee.

“I don’t imagine that Tua is going to get another chance until the point that we were making earlier about it being really make-or-break,” Foxworth noted.

A standout season could reshape perceptions of Tagovailoa and stabilize the Dolphins’ direction going forward, keeping key figures like McDaniel in their roles.

However, a losing season could result in significant changes, underscoring the urgency of the 2025 campaign for both Tagovailoa and the franchise.

With the Dolphins just drafting former standout Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, perhaps the team might quickly resort to him if all goes wrong with Tagovailoa.
