One of the underlying storylines of Wednesday’s showdown between the Chicago Sky and the Dallas Wings was two of the brightest young stars in the league going toe-to-toe.
In the end, it was Angel Reese who secured the win over Paige Bueckers, as the former helped lead Chicago to an 87-76 victory at Wintrust Arena.
Reese extended her double-double streak to seven games with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, to go along with 11 rebounds, an assist and a block in 30 minutes of action.
Bueckers, on the other hand, struggled with her shot, going for just 5-of-20 from the field for 17 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals in the loss.
The Reese-Bueckers clash was an entertaining battle and one that prompted a strong reaction from the WNBA.

It was Reese who won the battle on Wednesday night, as the Sky go up 3-0 against the Wings this season.
Chicago has improved to 6-13 after this victory and has jumped to the No. 10 spot, overtaking both the Wings, who are now 6-15, and the Los Angeles Sparks (6-13).
Up next for the Sky is a home matchup against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday, while the Wings will gear up for their highly anticipated matchup against the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
After taking on Reese on Wednesday, Bueckers will now get to face off against Caitlin Clark on Sunday in what will be their first individual battle at the WNBA level.
