Seattle Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo had a wholesome moment this week, sharing the news of his 2025 MLB All-Star Game selection with his family.

In a video posted to the Mariners’ official Instagram page, Woo shares the exciting news with his parents, capturing their joyful reactions. During the moment, Woo also revealed that teammates Andrés Muñoz, Julio Rodríguez, and catcher Cal Raleigh would be joining him at the Midsummer Classic.

This marks the first All-Star selection of Woo’s career, a well-deserved honor in a breakout season. The right-hander has been outstanding in 2025, posting a 2.77 ERA and a stellar 0.96 WHIP. Building on last season’s success, Woo has solidified himself not just as a key part of Seattle’s rotation but as one of the top pitchers in all of baseball.

Before becoming one of MLB’s rising stars, Woo pitched at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo—the same college that produced Minnesota Twins shortstop Brooks Lee, a 2022 first-round draft pick. Woo’s college career was bumpy; he missed one season due to COVID-19 and another due to Tommy John surgery. In total, he threw just 69 innings for the Mustangs, finishing with a 6.36 ERA and a 4–7 record. Still, his raw talent caught the Mariners’ attention, and they selected him in the sixth round of the 2021 MLB Draft.

That opportunity proved to be all Woo needed. He quickly impressed in the minors, posting a 2.97 ERA across 115 innings. Though his rookie season in the majors had its ups and downs, Woo has been dominant ever since. Between the 2024 and 2025 seasons, he has logged 228 innings with a 2.83 ERA and a 17–7 record.

Now, with an All-Star nod under his belt, Woo’s journey from underdog to ace continues to inspire.
