Just like that, one became three. It’s been a foregone conclusion that Aaron Judge was going to be on the American League All-Star team. But now, he’s not alone.

Sunday night, during the selection show, it was announced that Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Max Fried are also headed to Atlanta for the Midsummer Classic. Fried is in the conversation for who will be the AL’s starting pitcher. Chisholm was probably not on many people’s radars early this season, but he’s been on fire since returning from the IL, so his spot is also well-deserved.

“I mean, it got harder once I got hurt,” Chisholm said after the announcement. “But, you know, came back, got high and yeah, you know, felt like I worked hard for me to the…I felt like I earned it.”

“It’s special and it’s a really cool experience to go and be able to share that with teammates and family,” Fried told the media after the announcement.

Now that Fried and Chisholm are on the squad, Judge not only has his Manager, Aaron Boone, with him, as well as the Yankees’ coaching staff, but he also has his ace pitcher and his “running mate” on the team, too. Between Judge and Chisholm, that duo has been key to the Bombers’ offense this season as they’ve combined for 48 home runs so far. They’ve also combined for 112 RBIs and 114 runs scored.

As for Fried, he’s 11-2 with a 2.27 ERA across 119 innings and has struck out 111 batters while walking only 24.

With the Yankees trio onboard, the AL squad should have plenty of firepower for the All-Star Game.
