Tony Ferguson’s final stretch in the UFC wasn’t the fairytale ending fans had hoped for. Instead, it marked a grueling slide—eight consecutive losses, the longest skid in UFC history. Once feared for his relentless pace and unorthodox style, Ferguson’s late-career struggles left many wondering if it was finally time for the gloves to come off. But El Cucuy isn’t one to fade quietly. A recent update suggests he’s got more chaos to unleash.

The 41-year-old parted ways with the UFC in January 2025 and quickly signed with the Global Fight League. His next chapter was supposed to begin with a bout against Dillon Danis at the GFL’s inaugural event in May—but the fight never happened.

The promotion folded before it could launch, leaving Ferguson in limbo. Still, he never lost focus. Behind the scenes, he stayed in shape and kept his options open. The delay didn’t discourage him—it sharpened his resolve.

In a candid conversation with Red Corner MMA, Ferguson made it clear: he’s not walking away.

‘I’m not retired. I’m fighting in August.’

He confirmed a boxing bout set for August 30. He also revealed he’s considering MMA offers—and even teased stepping into other sports.

‘My mind and body is an A+, I’m sharp and I’m getting sharper.’

He’s still talking like a man who’s convinced he has something left to prove.

At 41, most fighters are reflecting on what was. Ferguson? He’s still chasing what’s next. Whether it’s in a ring or a cage—or something else entirely—the fire clearly hasn’t gone out. The chaos may be more calculated now, but make no mistake: El Cucuy isn’t done dancing with danger.
