Stephen Curry Responds to LeBron James’ Head-Turning Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Golden State Warriors haven’t been active this offseason by any means. The biggest storyline continues to be the decision the team and restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga will make.
With Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green at the helm, there is some pressure for the Warriors front office to put together a contending-caliber roster this offseason.
How the club approaches its eventual decision regarding Kuminga will be quite telling as to the aggressiveness of their approach to maximize on the end of Curry’s career.
The all-time guard has acknowledged that he’s not quite ready to retire, but the end is indeed near.
Other teams are in similar situations. The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly prioritizing Luka Doncic’s timeline over LeBron James’ final seasons in the NBA.
The Houston Rockets brought in Kevin Durant to try and capitalize on his greatness and deliver a title before he eventually retires, too.
James recently sparked even more retirement rumors, as he made an Instagram post about him joining the golf community.
This struck a response from Curry, an avid golfer also nearing the end of his basketball-playing career.
“Welcome. We’ve been waiting for you,” Curry commented on James’ post.

While the two might not ever team up on the hardwood, like many basketball fans would be intrigued to see, there’s a great chance they hit the golf course together as their respective careers are coming to a close on the basketball court.
In the meantime, both players are aiming to win a fifth NBA championship, as they both remain high-level superstars in the league.
Curry has the benefit of playing alongside Butler and Green, who are on a similar timeline to him.
James, on the other hand, might have to change teams in the near future to get one last chance at winning one last title.
Regardless, neither player has anything to prove, as they’ve accomplished plenty and had a superb impact on the sport of basketball.
