2025 Indianapolis Colts a 'team with a purpose,' says LB Zaire Franklin

“We’re going to win for Jim this year,” said Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen after Jim Irsay’s passing.

On a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL radio, Colts’ linebacker Zaire Franklin had a similar message.

“We’re a team with a purpose,” Franklin said, via NFL.com. “Obviously with the passing of Jim Irsay, a great man who’s done not only so much for the city, but the state of Indiana, this season and just honoring his legacy and continue to bring his dream to fruition is definitely extreme motivation. It’s one of those things that gets everybody on the same page where everybody is fighting and pulling from the same direction, for the same purpose.”

The Colts have their unknowns at quarterback, but overall, there is a lot to like about this roster heading into the 2025 season.

The secondary was reshaped in free agency, while Lou Anarumo’s more aggressive and disguise-heavy scheme should help elevate the play of the entire defense.

Around the Colts’ starting quarterback is Jonathan Taylor, the do-it-all tight end Tyler Warren, and the only trio of wide receivers in 2024 to all eclipse 800 receiving yards.

With even somewhat steady play at quarterback from Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson, the recipe is there for the Colts to be able to stack some wins.
